Bulbuls are of medium-sized passerine songbirds. Red-whiskered Bulbul is a member of the bulbul family, found in tropical Asia. They are very good singers

Bulbuls range in size from 6 inches (15 cm) to about 12 inches (30.5 cm) and have a long tail. Female birds are slightly smaller in size when compared to male birds. They feed mainly on berries, fruits. and small insects. They are not scared of human beings. Usually, build cup-shaped nests using grass and small branches of plants.

They lay 2-3 eggs. The incubation period is 13-15 days. Breeding may occur once or twice in a year.

Life span of Bulbuls is around 10 years.

It seems red-whiskered bulbuls were popular cage birds in India. But I have never seen them in cages anywhere.
